There we go, meaningful ones. So the scripture of the week this week has been in the book of 1 John, chapter 2, verse 16. For all that is in the world, the desires of the flesh, the desires of the eyes, and the pride of life is not from the Father, but from the world. Spent a ton of time unpacking that verse in our spiritual kickoff episode and then also fellas the episode yesterday well, not yesterday, it would have been Wednesday if you listened to this. When this comes out, it was all about battling pornography. Again, this is not a battle you want to do alone, because you start trying to fight the evil one in the dark. Guess what? He's probably going to kick your butt because that's where he lives, that's where he fights the best. Like you wouldn't fight a shark in the water, would you? No, get that shark out of the water and then from there he's on land. Then you can deal with him. He's not as dangerous, right? So I'm just telling you this has been an area that I've had so many guys come and express their struggle and how this is just a stumbling block for them. So I took some time. I wrote that Devo on the Bible app. It does very well. It gets lots and lots of downloads. So go check it out, particularly if this is an area that you're struggling with. Listen to that, you know. Share that podcast out with others as well. It's particularly like if you're part of a men's group and you guys are looking for a topic. I'm telling you, just use that little Bible study, because the statistics show us that you know 70, 80% of guys, christian guys. This, that 70-80% of guys, christian guys. This is a struggle area. So it's not like don't just glaze over it. Oh, probably not. Don't do that, don't be a moron. Actually share it, share it out and you'll see how it equips. Maybe it leads to some conversations that guys in your group need to have. They just don't have the right inflection point to open it up. This could be it. So again, whether it's the podcast you share out, that's fine. If you don't do that, or go and and on the bible app and do that study and send that study out. Just look, for I'm just a guy, uh, battling pornography and you'll find it right there. Okay, we'll even try to put in the show notes some links. I can't guarantee we'll do. We got a lot things happening, but you can find it on our website to the land within that US. If you click on Bible plans, just search pornography, it's going to pop right up, guys, ok. Right Now, fun Friday time we do a health, wealth and a self tip. A health tip is about mind and body. Wealth tips are career and finances. Self tip is about being a better husband and father. Let's go, let's get into it.

So the health tip this comes from my brother, doug, who's part of our community. He's been a member since we started Alliant. He's such an encouragement to me. He's also one of the funniest guys on the planet. I've never been in a meeting with Doug where I didn't laugh, okay. But he's like hey, I got, I got a health tip for you. I'm like all right, what is it brother? He's like, hey, uh, home gym, build your one. He's like, look, uh, because and I and I use it this week because he's like you know what this really, if you're, if you're talking about pornography, this, this is a way to keep your eyes pure, right, and he, he did it, okay to, he built his home gym. He uses free weights and he's had those free weights for a long time. He's got puts a racking system in with safety bars so he can work out alone. Just think about what it does for him, right? He saved the cost of a gym membership, but that should probably be a wealth tip right there. So it pays for itself pretty quickly. It's always open, right, and it's and it's right there. Just, you remove so many excuses For him. It's only a flight of stairs away, and he also saved about 600 bucks a year in gyms. So, and at the end of his workout 600 bucks a year in gyms and at the end of his workout, he says, instead of stretching and doing his in-between sets, he really has started implementing time in prayer, and I'm telling you what a great way to sure up.

So if you're struggling and you want to work on areas of fitness in your life, I'm telling you a home gym is great. I have one here and since we moved to the farm, I don't have a gym membership anymore. So I have a home gym set up and I also have a trail, a running trail, and that's it. Between the running trail and the free weights, let's go, and you don't have to put tens of thousands of dollars into a home gym you could take a small start, get you a bench and some free weights. I highly recommend a power rack. I have a power rack and then from there go, just go, you know, get to work. So I'm so thankful for Doug for sharing that, and he gets. He gets a ton of workout workouts in each and every week, and just thank you again, though, buddy, for sharing that stuff out All right.

Now for the wealth tip. This is something to consider here, particularly for the theme that we talked about this week of pornography. But invest in some software to guard your eyes. Okay, and I did some research out there. There's lots of different ones out there. Usually around 20 bucks or less. You can get a really good platform. And my only thing, my only tip here for you to consider with that investment is is your marriage worth investing that small amount of money to save? I think all of us would say yes. So there's nothing wrong with having something like covenant eyes or there's. There was three or four different ones I looked at. Covenant eyes is the one I always remember the most. But is it worth the investment to save your marriage? And I think that, hands down, you would say yes, so this doesn't mean, if you have this on, installed on your on your phone, that you have, uh problems. This just means you're being proactive and I'm telling you that's a big deal now for the self tip with kids. Okay, I'm going to make, I'm going to think this is very practical.

Talk to your kids about pornography, whether you got girls or boys talk to them about now. Is it going to be awkward? Yep, probably will be, but you can't bury your head in the sands here, boys. This is not ostrich parenting. That's not how this works. Have the conversation, just be authentic, be real and just let them know that, as their father, you're there, you're available. You also need to do some recon, do some research, make sure they're not looking at pornography. You should have these things on you know, in place on the software, from a software standpoint anyway, but create a safe space for them to be able to discuss this.

I grew up in a in a time when, when pornography first started coming out I mean, I was in a late teenager. This wasn't even like an awareness thing, it just started popping up. There's been time now. We've had enough water go underneath this bridge. We should be able to talk about it. So, as someone who has teenage daughters, you can bet your bottom dollar. I'm having this conversation, I've had it, we'll continue to have it. This is not a one and done either. Boys, you got to keep doing it, but you have a conversation. Guess what? E1's not going to stop fighting. No, he's going to come and attack tomorrow and the next day and the day after. I'm not saying you have to sit and talk about pornography every day with your kids, but a regular check-in, particularly as they go, all right. So your three tips your health, wealth and self. Hey, buy that home gym and make that investment. Hey, invest in that software to guard your eyes and then start talking to your children about pornography. All right.

So the book of the week. I don't have a copy of it here, but I've researched online. It's by Greta Eskridge. It says the title was his baller. So it's time to talk to kids about porn. A, a parent's guide to helping children and teens develop sexual integrity. I did some research here. It looks like that there's a lot of biblical ties that she, greta, has into and in this book. That's the main reason I made a recommendation for it. If any of you guys have ever read it and you would also recommend it, I'd love to hear from you. Just shoot me a note. I'd love to just get your thoughts on this book as we go forward.
